An ACCIDENT Scene - From another Angle!

Just yesterday I was on my way to meet a friend when I noticed a crowd of people on the road side with 2 vehicles parked closely(an indica car and a tempo traveler). I stopped by just out of curiosity to know what happened!

On closer inspection I found that there was a minor accident and that the bumper of the indica as well its right headlight was smashed by the minibus. U can very well imagine the ruckus stirred up and the crowd gathered along with passengers from the vehicles.

At this time I learnt that the indica was on the left side trying to overtake when the minibus unfortunately pulled to the left to pickup/offload some passengers!

However more than the accident I started noting the people surrounding the situation and have come to the following interesting characters.

(Please note its put up in humorous way but an accident scene is a serious business!)

  1. The Victims-

As in any story or scene, usually these bunch of helpless, shocked and dazzled people are too numb to react, talk and think logically (females especially start filling out buckets of tears/wailing Himesh reshamiya tunes...ooooooo....../clutching their near and dear ones or for that matter any tom dick or harry near them! without even understanding the whole situation!)

Some even show up a brave front but are stifled out by the innocent culprits!

  1. The Culprits-

These types are always the innocent people (as what they would like to show themselves as). They start shouting on top of their voices and speak up mumbling jumbling phrases and explanation to garner support and sympathy by trying every possible scheme to prove the other party wrong and justify themselves.

They also magically rake in support and manage to bring in a few 'jobless mob' types to support them, who themselves do not know what the whole picture is!

  1. The (UN)Lawful officers-

These are another bunch of uninformed, ill-equipped, helpless, shocked and dazzled people, who atleast show that they are helping the justified colorful culprits while reprimanding the silent victims!

They also double up in role and compliment the 'jobless mob' often bringing the traffic to a complete standstill!

  1. The Jobless Mob-

Usually they come around from places like the roadside chaiwalla, panwala stalls, bicycle shops, dhabas, roadside mechanic joints, galli nukkads or even walkers loitering around wondering why they are here!

They have many useful roles like:

a. Adding to the already existing mayhem, commotion and crowd.

b. Restricting the support and aid being handed out by the Samaritans.

c. Blocking crowd movement and thus traffic flow in the process.

d. Scratching their own heads to wonder what’s happening and also to assist in scratching other people's heads who come to ask them about the scene.

  1. The Unfortunate Samaritans-

They act and believe they are the situational heroes and try to:

a. Pacify the scene (and end up getting dragged into the victims group!)

b. Start a neutral dialogue between the fighting parties (and in turn themselves get abused and bashed up by both victims and culprits!)

c. Call emergency numbers and help aid (and in the process inform their own family members as if they too are involved in the scene and describe the incident as colorfully as possible!(maybe its helpful to write a 500 page movie script also))

  1. The Fire starters/Parasites-

These Formless creatures thrive on controversy and bask in the sunshine of chaos. They also supplement the ‘Jobless Mob’ role. The rate at which they change their supporting side and comments to Victims/Culprits/(UN)Lawful officers, makes even a chameleon to commit suicide in shame!

  1. The Passerby’s-

Insignificant (for the scene) entities (like me!) that quickly stop by or slowly pass trying to figure out what in the world is happening…and only pray that they do not get caught into the scene!

Hehe….Hope the info was useful!
