"Watson, what do you make of it ?"
"Frankly Holmes, I havent the faintest clue"
"Look up the homepage on Mouthshut, will you ?. They have released a new movie in my name with an American gentleman Robert Downey Jr. playing the lead. Lestrade's telegram tells me that the movie has been supposedly well received by the media and that a certain Mr Syd Barret has written a Review on it. Would you be kind enough as to read out the Review"
I had logged on to the website and was trying to locate the review Holmes was referring to. Sure enough there it was - an inconspicuous hyperlink tucked away in a corner. I clicked on it and started reading out loud.
"Guy Ritchie, a British Filmmaker, has come out with a brand new movie on Sherlock Holmes. The movie stars Robert Downey Jr playing the role of Holmes while Jude law steps in for Watson. The story starts with Scotland Yard calling upon Holmes help 'em foil Lord Blackwood’s attempt of sacrificing a lady, the fifth in a line of murders, for attaining higher powers in Black Magic. Holmes along with his ever faithful ally Watson rushes to prevent the crime and Lord Blackwood is subsequently sentenced to Death. Blackwood however has other plans. Before being hanged, he informs Holmes of his intention to come out of grave to change the course of history with the help of his evil powers. Meanwhile Watson has got himself engaged to Mary Morstan and Holmes cannot restrain himself from seeing Irene Adler, the only woman to have impressed him. Soon Blackwood comes out of his grave and starts unearthing his vicious plans. What happens next ? Is Holmes able to get the better of his adversary? Is Watson able to once and for all shake off Holmes and get married ? Does Holmes accept the fact that he too is human and that he too needs to get married. Watch the movie for the rest."
"But who's this guy, Ritchie ?", I asked.
"Ritchie ? ah yes, would you be so kind enough as to look up the letter R in my index. You'd find Ritchie between Rihanna & Rituparna."
I found the entry and read it out "Guy Ritchie, a British Filmmaker and husband to the famous pop artist Madonna. Famous for his movie Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels."
"Quite So. Pray, continue"
"It further adds that Ritchie is divorced now and so has all the spare time in the world.", I said.
Holmes chuckled, "So Watson, what do you make of hisspare time efforts ?"
“Well Holmes”, said I, leaning on the mantelpiece, “On the whole this looks like another one of those homages to us. Going by what Syd has written, the movie looks like a good watch."
Holmes snapped "Watson, you know my methods. It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories. Lets go watch the movie and decide for ourselves"
