Driving to work in the past One Week, I saw a manholeleft uncoveredin the main road around Banjara Hills Road No 1. All through the week I have seen threeor fourincidents, either persons being hurtor getting their vehicles damaged.
Slowly As days Went by I did realised that people can seriously get hurt if the manhole is left uncovered. Nobody seems to be bothered, not even the persons who got hurt. A delay in covering the manhole can result in greater loss. I remember quite some time back; one motorcyclist had fractured his leg when his motorcycle went over an uncovered manhole at night. Do we want to wait for mishap to happen before we take action?
There is a saying that a stitch in time saves nine. Similarly, in this case, if the work is completed in time it saves lives. More urgency in their work could have helped improve productivity by leaps and bounds. A lot of Indians actually have this “Sab Chalatha hai” attitude. Then I had this enlightenment.
I will act now. I will act now. I will act now.
Henceforth, I will repeat these words each hour, each day, everyday, until the words become as much a habit as my breathing, and the action which follows becomes as instinctive as the blinking of my eyelids.
Live this day as if it will be your last. Remember that you will only find "tomorrow" on the calendars of fools.
Forget yesterday's defeats and ignore the problems of tomorrow.
Today is all you have. So Act Now. Make it the best day of your year. The saddest words you can ever utter are, "If I had my life to live over again".
Beginning today treats everyone you meet, friend or foe, loved one or stranger, as if they were going to be dead at midnight.
We don’t care much about the work we do. We don’t take pride in our work. We don’t take things seriously. Work for us is just a place to past time, where we can chitchat with fellow friends over coffee or tea and gossips about the latest happenings, earn some money by the way, and then go home to eat and rest and sleep. There is no professionalism at all.
Why? The answer is simple. We have lost our excellence. We have lost our pride of work. The Raj went off, but left us with no pride.
Extend to each person, no matter how trivial the contact, all the care and kindness and understanding and love that you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward.
Take the baton, now.
Run with it!
This is your day!
Your life will never be the same again.
We just have to look east at Japan, China and Korea. Even a road sweeper there is full of pride for his work and he will do his work with full vigor and full professionalism.
Only with that kind of an attitude, will a good work ethic slowly evolve and social responsibility will grow.
I will act now.
With these words I can condition my mind to perform every action necessary for my success.
This is exactly what I did today morning, parked my car to the side of road picked a pile big stones and made a boundary around them. Stuck two three Sticks around them with red Tape... No Magic.. My Wife takes me to rides on Sundays and she keeps a Red tape handy in car for fixing the "L" Sign.. LOL
With the Deed done I went to home. Then placed a call to GHMC Call Center Toll Free Number to inform them about the open Man Hole. I hope by Monday Its Covered and the road is safe for everyone.
I will repeat these words again and againand again.
I will walk where failures fearto walk.
I will work when failures seek rest.
I will act now for now is all I have.
Tomorrow is the day reserved for the labor of the lazy.
I am not lazy.
Tomorrow is the day when the failure will succeed.
I am not a failure.
I will act now.
Success will not wait.
If I delay, success will become wed to another and lost to me forever.
This is the time.
This is the place.
I am the person.
R U the Person too, then Act Now. And Repeatedly Say "I will Act Now"
