Buoyed by the success of the first short, we've spent 3 days making a new Flash video for my husband's book, an action/adventure story entitled: The Road to the King. Searching for the right public domain music was the most difficult part, as many of my personal collection of classical pieces are somewhat feminine in tone. Each of us could easily recall having heard the 'perfect' piece, but yet neither of us could name it.
Searching through Beethoven produced some promising pieces but none held the initial drama necessary, nor then clash of sounds needed for the 'climax' portion. Some pieces--like 'O Fortuna'-- were far too overwhelming. After pushing aside Boccherini, Handel and Brahms, we began to wonder if such a piece existed, and if so, locating might take several weeks.
As if on cue, Antonín Dvorák came fighting in from stage left, brandishing one of his most played cello concertos. After listening to the beginning notes, we knew it was the one.
