I have just read The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K Rowling, and I feel free to recommend it to anyone who is intrigued by the Harry Potter series.
This book is a collection of short bedtime stories which are told to young wizards by their parents.
The stories bear as much resemblance as much they differ from our bedtime stories ( Cindrella etc.) .
Also the notes by Albus Dumbledore at the end of each story are really great and tell us how the story is supposed to improve the young children ( wizards) morally and emotionally. Dumbledore also speaks about how Beedle tries to induce muggle-loving ( Harry Potter terminology) behaviour into the young minds, which is opposed by many wizards who consider themselves to be higher than muggles.
( Muggles are non-magic folk) .
There are 5 tales in this book and they are:
1) The Wizard and the Hopping Pot
2) The Fountain of Fair Fortune
3) The Warlock's Hairy Heart
4) Babbity-Rabbity and the Cackling Stump
5) The Tale of the Three Brothers
Also, the book is said to be translated from ancient runes to English by Hermoine Granger.
Albus Dumbeldore and Hermione Granger are both fictional characters.
I would strongly recommend that you read the book after reading the Harry Potter series as there are some potential spoiler hints ( not complete spoilers but still.) which may ruin the thrill.
