Here's an example of a good series (Jack Ryan) gone extremely boring. I was waiting for this movie thinking that this was a prequel to Clear & Present Danger and Patriot Games (I thought Ben Affleck, plays a younger Jack Ryan, earlier played by Harrison Ford).
The plot involving a US - Russia nuclear showdown is well.... boring. After 9/11, the face of the International Terrorist is synonymous with the likes of Osama Bin Laden, Abu Nidal, etc. Gimme a nail-biting, edge of the seat thriller with an Arab terrorist! Is it politically incorrect to say that?? My apologies to Arab readers.
To sum it up.... this movie is AVOIDABLE.
P.S. Isn't the pres the same guy from Clear and Present Danger???
