After hearing some of the songs on FM, decided to buy this CD and here the music uninterrupted by the the RJs'. Have been hearing some of the songs over and over since yesterday, and it is has been an extremely pleasant hearing. Adnan Sami weaves his magic once again. Thank God the 100 odd kgs he has lost hasn't changed his voice in anyway. The first track 'dil kya kare' is a lilting melody using the same tune 'salaam-e-ishq' in a very non-bollywood style. A pleasant surprise in the package!
The title song which is 7 minutes long kept me engaged despite hearing it several times, this one is a wonderful blend of lyrics and melody.My other favourite 'Mera dil, dil mera ' is the duet featuring Shaan and Saregama participant Nihira - probably one of the best in the album. Newcomer Nihira has diplayed a voice one can't forget in a hurry - a superb entry into playback singing.
FOr all you Kailash Kher lovers, there is Ya Rabba, the sufi styled track - needs a couple of hearings to start getting hooked. But hooked you will get, eventually. His unique style suits this cong perfectly.Saiyyan re and Tainu Leke haven't yet grown on me. Saiyyan does seem to have some interesting beats though.4 out of 7 tracks will surely make you hum along which makes this a good buy.
Check out the tracks on raaga before you buy or just continue hearing them there :DShankar Ehsaan Loy are soon becoming the best music directors around... but I wish they would experiement a little outside the Kal-ho-na-ho and 'kabhi alvida na kehna' mould. They have a great potential and hope to hear better stuff next time.Have you heard this album? If yes, what's your view?
