QUEEN - WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Plot:

Cinematography:

The storyline of this much talked about film is simple - an urbane, upper-middle class girl is ditched by her fiance on the eve of their wedding. The girl, heartbroken travels to Europe, if only to escape from her hometown and the bitter experience associated with it. In Europe she struggles to adapt to her new surroundings until she finds a few true friends who helps her to reinvent herself. Eventually she amasses the courage to find a strong foothold in the Male dominated Indian Society.

This looks all very well in reel life but in real life, things are not as easy for Indian women, especially the poorer millions who cannot even dream of traveling to Europe or America. The movie, though inspiring to some extent, oversimplifies the deep-rooted problem of Women's empowerment in a society run by Male chauvinists. The protagonist's character, played very convincingly by Kangna Ranaut, seems a little bit too naive for a modern, upper-middle class young lady.

All said and done, this film provides a welcome break from the hackneyed fore dished out by the so called'Commercial' HIndi Movies and their makers.
