Whether you agree with my reviews or not, there is one thing that I shall tell you to be the cardinal truth - if you are single and wish to save money - watch movies! Then let it be Jodha Akbar or Don Mutthuswamy, at least you are away from the prying, seductive, and long winding lanes of materialism that call you!

Anyway, when I first saw the rushes of Jodha Akbar I was quite impressed. The director wanted to tell us that'look out for the costumes, and the story will follow', and I do not have any issues with that. When they are making a medieval movie, the costumes are quite an important aspect of the movie.

Speaking about the movie itself, Jodha Akbar is once again stolen by Hrithik. I mean, he has succeeded in playing the Akbar of Emperor Akbar. I am quite certain the guy must have done some research before going into the movie. There is no other way in which he can turn from a all empowered emperor from a young guy who is trying to fool a grocer within seconds and all that with his mannerisms and his facial expressions - ladies and gentlemen, we have a new superstar.

And yea, now we come to the script. The script is good, but its still the same'they are in love and there was a misunderstanding which could be cleared off with a talk over dinner', but no, this is like the 1600s or 1800s or whatever and its gonna be a long winding path before this story ends. However, I strongly think that the step-mother drama was inspired by Ekta Kapoor's serials. And the day another major mainstream movie is made inspired by Ekta Kapoor, I am gonna go adigital.

The action scenes then, and the costumes, are the shining star in this movie. right from Akbar's sword to Aishwarya's dupatta, each and every care has been taken regarding the sets and show. Even the action scenes are world class and I think they are the best when we think about the other medieval action sequences we have seen in Bollywood.

Watch the movie by all means, watch it for Hrithik, watch it for Aish, watch it for the costumes and the action. as for the lovestory, switch on your favorite saas bahu serial and you'll get it.
