ICICI Bank Services. Review on ICICI Bank

Although ICICI Bank and ICICI have now merged, my comments are confined to the Banking Services only.

After dealing with Nationalised Banks, dealing with ICICI Bank was like a breath of fresh air. The officials are extremely courteous and efficient and my accounts were opened without any hassle and the officials were there to help at every step, if necessary. This is, I think, the only bank which offers ''Quantum Optima'' services - the account holder can co-opt to keep a certain minimum balance and the rest get automatically credited to a fixed deposit bearing a higher rate of interest. Of course, there is no hassle in withdrawing any amount from your entire account.

I remember, when I visited ICICI Bank at Free Press House, the moment I stepped, an official came over and asked if I needed any help. This has never happened in a Nationalised Bank.

My experience, over the years, has been very pleasant. Account Holders are not charged any commission for the issue of Banker's cheques and also, I think demand drafts. All the queries are handled promptly and courteously. There has been times with the Branch Manager (ICICI Main Office)has personally telephoned and furnished the information I needed.

Only one complaint. They have stopped issuing and updating passbooks and send a monthly statement which does not arrive in time. They could perhaps revive this practice. In any case, account related queries are answered promptly and if required, statement print-outs are handed out.
