U n I in this beautiful world…. sometimes do get bored and tired of watching the same stuff on teevee forpaanch or more than paanch hours n how we wish to get a cool break from the monotony, and suddenly pops up an ad and makes you smile… inbus do minute and that makes u think ki to hell with those who say that ads are likes daags(stains)…. on the faces of your fav shows….Kyunki daag acchhey hain… infact kuch daag toh total jhakaas hi hain!
And then…these ads…esp. their jingles start controlling u… your mind! U just forget about everything….and sote-jaagte-….you just think about these jingles….and hum along…. unless and until your mom shouts out your name while dragging you away from your teevee…. She yells….oye bubbly…… this fascination sometimes takes the form of a mania of sorts and you even stop bothering about your personal hygiene and that forces your pals to say aap close up kyun nahi karte hain? Believe me ek baar ads ka jaadoo cha jaaye… jingles ka mania ho jaaye….toh yeh dil maange more and more of those mad ads…. So, here goes ad-mad Soojie’s list of top ten ad-jingles….
1. Un I in this beautiful world:-yeps… MS ka apna all time fav ad…(hutch)….continues to rock on Soojie’s list! Just love the easy going, soulful, and laid-back track…. Each time you hear this jingle…. it actually does remind you what a beautiful world we are living in… love this jingle for its sweet, simple and feel-good effect… and yeps… this hutch-pug ad…was also a true gem….
2. Airtel tune:- the airtel signature tune composed by rehman is simply amazing…. N yeah, its got that zing! Just listen to this tune once, and you get that kick… its celebrates the magic of victory, joy, emotions…. Rehmaan’s airtel raag roxxxx…bigtime! And ya, the full hello tune version of this tune is also available and me likes that too….
3. Bajaj avenger DTSI:-you feel like God! the commercial is super-cool… its got that heady mix of stle and spunk…and add to that this rockin’ guitar tune that plays in the background….n gosh…. it makes u feel like God! the jingle…”feel like God” says it all…. It signifies the message it wants to convey… its all about feeling good, moving ahead, forgive n forget….livin’ life king size…. Yes, its about feeling like …. GOD….
4. La…ira…ila:-a rather sweet kinda voice sings out “laa…ira…ila”, and gets yoyr feet tapping…that’s the liril ad for you! Liril ads have always boasted of these refreshingly kewl jingles….and their latest offering is no different…infact, its undoubtedly their best so far… the jingle is really sweet, hummable and full of taazgi… so, all you Ira’s and Ila’s of MS… catch this ad, and dance to the beats now…. La…ira…ila!
5. Boondon mein jaane kya naya hai?…. shubha mudgal in her amazing husky voice renders “boondoon mein jane”…. As a young couple heads on a drive for their morning cuppa….n you get a winner ad! its some chai company ka ad…(don’t remember the name yaar, more interested in the song)…. Now, shubha mudgal seems to be this ad-mad singer herself… I mean she has lent her voice to some of the most amazing jingles on teevee, be it the Asian paints ad, or this one. She’s awesome and so is this jingle!
6. Dil ko jab khushi choo jaye:- …kuch meetha ho jaaye? Saare tv shows se jub hum pak jai…yeh cool ad ho jaaye? Oh sure! This cadbury’s ad celebrated the whole feel-ggod-funda! The visuals, the concept, …everything made you feel awwww soooo good! And ofcourse, this jingle was the best part about it! Dunno who’s crooned this one….but the voices seem quite coolio!
7. kya aap close-up karte hain:-now how can I miss this one? his ad was followed by many me-toos….(with similar jingles and concept)…. But none of them worked as well as this one did. Be it the weird accent, the unique style in which this jingle was sung, or the fun factor….this ad was purrrrfect!
8. the bubbly grind: okey the ad was silly…. What with that whole SRK n weird lips concept, but the bubbly grind is cool! The jingle is full of fun, bubblyness, and its pretty catchy too… that’s what popularized the bubbly grind with the masses as well as the classes….(but yeah, turning this jingle into a full-fledged gana wasn’t a good idea after all)….
9. jiyo sar utha ke:- arrey I’ve just mentioned Pepsi ka name, so can Coke be far behind? NO WAY! The latest Coke commercial is a super-star. With aamir as the model, and some absolutely amazing music, it simply rocks! The music, the beats are awesome and the slogan says it all….jiyo sar utha ke…. Its all about self-respect and dignity…. So, jiyo sar utha ke and follow this jingle…. Dil aur jaan laga ke….
10. doodh-doodh…wonderful doodh:-yes this ad was issues by national dairy commission or something! This bohot purana ad was oh-sooo-cool! For the first time, we had a social(kinda) ad…with a message as pakaaoo as “the importance of drinking milk”…. And still it managed to emerge as one helluva rockin’ ad… drinking doodh was neva so cool as this ad made it to be…. The jingle….was fresh, frothy, and total mast!
Haah…so, that was soojie’s pick…. Although there are many more jingles that me likes, like the “hey-ya-hey-ya…ti ra ra reh-yaa” saif ad, the* na sar juka hai kabi *ad…. and manyyy more…. And with the kind of crap that the film alas are offering as music these days, these ads surely are music to one’s ears…wassays? Do drop in your comments…masala mar ke!
