It was just a figure of speech without any specific implication. And as an educated person I am very much aware of t...he sacrifice made by the people of Bangladesh for the honour and sanctity of Bengali (''Bhasha Andolon'' of 1952, etc). And finally a piece of advice, if you are ready to accept it in the first place at all. Please maintain a basic class and culture while expressing your disagreement with or even disappointment over a remark or observation made by someone.
