Shayaree: My favorite shayers are: Mirza Asadullah Begh Khan 'Ghalib', Sultan Bahadur Shah 'Zafar', Mirza Nawab Khan Dagh 'Dehlavi', Faiz Ahmed 'Faiz', Maulana 'Hasrat' Mohani, Ustad Khwaza Ahmed Abbas 'Zouq' (he was teacher of Sultan Bahadur Shah 'Zafar', the last Mughal Emporer in India), Meer Taqi 'Meeer', Sampooran Singh 'Gulzar', 'Nida'Fazli, 'Qateel' Shifaee, Sudershan 'Faqri'... etc.
Music: Indian classical music.
I am a flute player and have learnt under Pandit Aravindrao Patwardhan, Pandit Raghunath Seth and Pandit Ronu Majumdar. To complement melody, I learnt Percussion by the Grand Maestro Ustad Allarakha.
Old Music(and I mean OLD {before 1942-1965} songs)... Period.: Hemant Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Talat Mehmood, Abhash Kumar Ganguli (Guess who?), Timir Baran, Ashok Kumar, Jaganmaya Mitra, Dwijen Mukharjee, Subir Sen... the list will go on and the site will kick me out!
