I just visited site of Zerodha to check how they claim to charge no brokerage fee on Mutual funds transactions. Pls beware of such sites which claims to charge no brokerage fee on MFs. The Trick is very simple. While they show how much you will save on brokerage fee, they smartly increase the NAV of each MF to compensate for brokerage fee they showed they have not charged. Isn't it tricky. for eg: As I hold account with icicidirect I have access to all NAV of MFs. Now lets take one MF which is Kotak balance-Direct plan-Growth. In icicidirect the NAV of this fund as on 7/12/17 is Rs.24.22 and the brokerage fee is 2.09% which they clearly mentions. Now when I checked Zerodha, the NAV of this fund as on 7/12/17 is Rs. 25.71 with 0% brokerage fee. Now you can see the difference in NAV is itself is 6.4% higher in Zerodha. Isn't it complete fraud. I would request readers to be cautious on such sites.pls dont buy any MF on any tom dick herry sites which claims to be expert in financial planning.
