Elagiri is just not a hill station ; it is a point just above the sea level w.r.t the other places around it and thats it . It neither has anything u think of in an hill station- Great weather( cold ) , beautiful lanscapes , inviting gardens and parks etc...this has none to mention of any standard.
the official brochure in the travel office states the temperature to be 34 deg max and it was just around that when we visited there , u call this weather relaxing & 'hill station weather'? Expect for the boat house ; there isn't any place worth visitng there. No trek routes ; no parks nothing.
The only thing u enjoy at this place is the stay in one of the good resorts there ; given the money u pay to stay there , u may well pay the same to a resort at any other place or a city for that matter and surely u will unwind well in the weekends.
After visitng elagiri , i surely found out that Hills stations like , Coonoor , kotagiri , ooty , Kodai , Munnar and even wynad for that matter are the originals and elagiri is just a bad cousin to them ...if u think that u need to be out of town for hte weekend and there is nothing worth doing ; visit Elagiri!
