Hi  friends, I am Krishna from kathmandu Nepal. Today, I would like to share my experience with Yamaha Gladiator 125 ss. I started riding bike in 2009. My first bike was Yamaha YBX 125.

Having ridden yamaha YBX 125 bike for over years, I was very much fan of power, pickup, comfort, and smoothness of super refined yahama engine. The reason I wanted switch over to other bike from YBX was I wanted added features like self start and disc brake which YBX lacked all though overall performance of bike was amazing.

I didn't want to go for heavier bike so I wanted 125 cc bike. Most of friends used to suggest Honda Shine which is quite popular in 125 cc segment. But I really didn't like the boring gentlemen looks of that bike. I wanted some thing more stylish with the features like self start and disc brakes. All though Shine had self start but disc brake was optional. After doing lots of research over internet I knew about Yamaha Gladiator which was upgraded version of well known YBX with lots of improvisation and added features. So I decided to test ride the Gladiator 125. After taking it for a short test ride I made a decision to buy without giving a second thought. I bought my gladiator in 2011.

The first thing was the sporty styling it had which caught my attention. 125cc  having such  a sporty looks it looked like heavy sports bike.

The reasons I bought gladiator

  1. Super cool sporty styling, which was head turner. You would always feel you are riding a  premium class sports bike.

  2. Comfortable seating position could easily handle the bike though I am short with the height of 5 ft 3  inches.

  3. Disc brake was the added feature for better braking and stability.

  4. Power and pick up was best in class with the super smooth acceleration.

  5. 5th gear was unique to this bike as lots of other 150 cc had 4 gears only. This made acceleration more smoother in higher speeds

  6. Mileage was over 50 kmpl which was also best in class.

  7. Self start made bike starting more convenient

  8. Low maintenance cost

No other 125 cc bike such features.

Even bajaj pulsar had 4th Gear when gladiator was introduced but this 125 cc machine already had 5th gear. if you are looking for a 125 cc premium commuter bike then go for gladiator ss. This is the best 125 cc bike ever.

I love to call it full option bike as it has all the features that makes it premium like disc brakes, self start, 5th gear, alloy wheel and sporty looks.

Yamaha keeps on upgrading its products but its decision to stop production of Gladiator was pointless all though this was a hit and was really doing well with the sales.

Hope my review was helpful

Thank you

Krishna
