Not exactly 'The Next Level'

Plot:

Performance:

Music:

Cinematography:

The 'Next Level' tag, sets stage for an action packed sequel to the xXx, but xXx2 hardly rises - even to its predecessor's level. I would state three underlining factors in xXx that made it mind blowing.

  1. Vin Diesel

2.The back ground score (especially the live show by rammstein - that portrayed a typical underground russian anarchist society)

  1. realistic graphics

And so the 'next level' lags exactly in these aspects.

  1. Ice Cube would be better off playing a supportive role than that of xXx himself :)

(who would love to watch a fat-punk play vin diesel's role - the director cud have atleast removed this blunt scene where a NSA agent sez Diesel died in a plane crash)

  1. The music is predominantly rap, the kind (i believe) doesn't suit action sequences(as background scores - A few scenes were metal-scored, by - velvet revolver I guess - not sure)

  2. The graphics gets a bit overdone (as in torque where its again ice cube :) - I seem to be prejudiced against this man - i'm sorry).

However the movie is not as bad as one might expect. The city coup scene towards the end is good, so are ice cubes 'high-precision' stunts. One can watch it on a dull sunday afternoon, it will sure be a handful :)
