Greetings folks! as a photographic enthusiast i was always in love with POV cameras, to be precise i was a Gopro fan, but the price point of gopro let me down.
Then one day a good friend of mine suggested me the Xiaomi Yi camera, where i had a love at first sight. To be short and simple let me cut down my review to a few Pros and Cons.
well lets start with the Pros:
1) Good resolution
2) good software interface (mobile app)
3) cheap and best ( it produces a 1080p 60fps crisp and clean video)
4) the images coming at night are pretty usable apart from other cams like SJs and all
5) build quality is pretty good
6) Field of view is really good
7) The white color looks sleek and sexy
and talking about the cons
1) the profile coming out is pretty flat but can be post processed from LR or PS
2) there is no Water proof housing given along with the box (original costs u around 2.5K )
3) Battery could be better
4) there is nothing like a raw format like the gopro (protune)
so according o me, if u are a fan of POV cameras at a low cost you can definitely go for the Xiaomi Yi (traveller edition, which comes with a selfie pole), u can expect a great 1080p video out of this small camera with a whooping 16MP sony sensor.
PLACE TO BUY: you can buy from Ebay (make sure u find sellers with golden badge), i paid around 9.3K for the traveler edition.
