We spent Christmas at Hiliya and had a lovely time. The staff were exceptionally friendly and did all they could to welcome us not only to the Homestay but the village itself.
The setting is lovely - my daughter (aged 22 months) and I enjoyed a walk over the bamboo bridge and through the plantation each morning.
The staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs (from a bigger mug of tea to trying to trace a lost dolly) and helped us organize our day trips to the surrounding areas of interest.
The food was great - all locally produced. The cook was also a whizz at pasta and knocked up dishes for our picky toddler!
This really was a home away from home. However, the addition of luxury villas, a tree house and a swimming pool look set to also make this a more luxurious resort in the future.
