I bought the 1 Ton Vertis some 4 years back. It was hardly been used for 3-4 Months (active use). and after that it stopped cooling. I took it for repair and it was found that gas is leaking from multiple places on the cooling copper pipe. For the cost saving the quality of copper pipes used is so thin, that as per my mechanic this is common problem with Voltas products now.
The mechanic was a trusted one and normally gives a warranty of 3 Months for gas refill, but for this product, which was little more than a year old he simply denied to give any warranty, due to the quality of pipes used in AC. He did some welding on pipes and I had to spent around Rs 1800 on that, with no warranty. Fortunately it worked for the season but again next year I had to get further leakage on pipe fixed with fas filling and another Rs 2000 was spent next year. Now for this season, again the same, no cooling and so I decided to replace it, rather to get t fixed again.
In the mean time I discussed with Voltas service center and asked them if it is possible to replace the complete front panel where you have those copper loop wire, but cold get a satisfactory answer, whether they will be able to provide a replacement part on this. They also commit to fix it by welding the existing tubes, but no guarantee on that.
They have made a good name earlier, and that's what even I trusted, but seems the quality of the products been degraded a lot.
