Yes. I tried airtel gprs (5rs/day)on a blackberry but the airtel people could not send the settings. they told me to visit 100 ft rod then bannergatta etc. petrol iteself would have cost 100rs.
So I changed to vodafone prepaid on a motorola 230. they sent the settings and told me no charge except 10ps per kb initially they said Rs 299 pm.
I get the vodafone site when I open up the browser. but wait-- if you click on any picture or something saying "free" you are deducted Rs 100. When I called pud the voice on the customer line said it was for a download. Some JAVA GAME.
Only thing is my phone does not support or accept such downloads. Also no notice is sent before any download with the charge. On the normal internet the modem protocol allows verification between sender and receiver and also after download is complete a check is done. Similar thing should be happening with the cell phone system. I visited their service center and called several times. no rectification.I think I shall go back to AIRTEL--AIRTEL---AIRTEL OR BSNL BSNL BSNL OR IDEA IDEA IDEA SPICE SPICE SPICE
