Surrounded by hills and greenery Mata Vaishno Devi temple is around 14 km after climbing the hill

Shoes and sticks are also available for rent for comfortable walking
One can walk, take palki, take horse or go by helicopter which costs 1500 per person
Prasad can be bought from outside the mandir before sranding in queue and depositing shoes
Halwa is given outside the temple as a prasad
Generally its busy during March, April and Oct-Dec
