I have personally seen the situation in the department’s office in Varanasi, located just near Varanasi Cantt railway station. Officers are always on tour to their choice places. Even after a huge expenditure on salary and establishment, the achievement is nil. No one can tell you how many tourists have been attracted to UP due to efforts of this Department. This is a white elephant for the UP Government fulfilling the wishes officers and Ministers/Politicians.
This department of government of UP is running just to accommodate the officers of Government. In the name of the achievements of this department are only its offices located in big cities of UP where offices are mostly found locked. Staffs are never available on their seat to guide the domestic as well as foreign tourists.
This department should be closed so as the tax payers money could be utilised to some other meaningful purpose like education and health. Sinking money of common man.
