I just started this past weekend. I worked a total of 10 hours over the course of 3 nights. I made after uber fees and made an additional cash in tips. Uber would make 5 stars all around if they added a would you like to tip your driver feature to the rider at the end of a trip. . . . anyway I spent in gas bringing it down to still over rs7/hr pre-tax for the Tacoma area. I work for usps by day and only make rs.7/hr pre-tax and that is an incredibly physical job. With uber I can work when I want. I did another trip on my way running errands today and made $6 for a super short trip. Where else can you choose when to work, get to hang out in your car sitting comfy with something to drink/eat if you want, get to choose your breaks, etc. I probably wasted a good 2 hrs of my weekend online because I had to go out to the middle of nowhere a few times and couldn't find riders.
I really wish riders were required to enter destinations so we could choose to decline if say we do not want to go all the way across the county to the middle of nowhere. Seriously need to add the tipping option too.
Pros
Work when you want, comfy/laid back, weekly paychecks
Cons
No tipping option. Have to handle our own taxes, can never find a rider during surge, riders cant select favorite drivers
