I recently subscribed to the AirTel 128 KBPs unlimited package at aprox 1000 INR per month.
Total turn around time for first call to sales to installation at home was within about 4 days. Literally worked out of the box.
Follow up once installed was also thorough.
-First a telephonic confirmation that all's working fine.
-Then a physical verification by one of their staff who come home checks the through put and also verifies that your PC is upto date with service packs, anti virus, anti spyware and software firewall.
-If anything lacking the engineer makes recommendations.
I am very happy say that connectivity is rock solid. I was even more pleasantly surprised to see that the 128K was each way. I could upload at 128K and download at 128K simultaneously. Unlike the regular cable operator / dialup where it was not so.
Customer support though takes a couple of rings to get thru and atleast 4 * keys to reach the broad band call center. Once thru you get well trained people and a call back within 30 mins if the problem is not resolved on the spot.
Love their service so far. And I have been thru a few ISPs from dialup, cable , shared device and finally now ADSL.
