PUC Certificate(pollution under control certificate) is mandatory document for all the vehicle operating on Indian roads. A vehicle owner must carry a PUC documents like how he carry's a valid driving licence and a valid car insurance.
PUC certificate is provided to the vehicle that has passed the pollution under control test by PUC centers in your city.These pollution control centers are almost everywhere in the city.
If a vehicle receives this certificate it implies that the car or bike's pollution emission are under control and that vehicle is not a threat to the air of the city.
All vehicles release smoke which pollutes the environment in this case pollution emission of the vehicles has to be checked to determine how safe the vehicle is for the city.
All new cars are been issued with a pollution under control certificate of one year.After the one year is complete the car owner must undergo the PUC test every six months.
PUC certificate contains serial number, License plate number for the vehicle, Date of the PUC test been done and the expiry of the PUC test.
If a person is been caught without a valid PUC certificate he will be charged penalty.So it is compulsory for every vehicle to have a valid PUC certificate.
