The X Men franchise in my opinion really works as long as there are a bunch of mutants fighting it out in the open for the sake of humanity. The first wolverine spin off was a confused muddle in my opinion- especially his love/hate relation with his bro (how the dont remember each other in the first x-men movie is a big oversight). But at least there was plenty of action in that movie.
This one is confused between a sappy love story, family saga (that would do ekta kapoor proud) as well as other elements thrown in just for fun. Hey if we wanted all the drama, I would watch Lincoln. Superhero movies must focus alot on action and plot development. This movie unfortunately falls short on both.
I hope that marvel can pull up their socks and focus on movies like the avenger universe and x-men movies where there are a lot of characters to focus on.
