I being a fan of mind boggling movies with great twists or suspense, this movie has a high place in my must watch movies list. This movie is about a man named Andy Dufresne who convicted of his wife's murder lands up in the Shawshank State Penitentiary. Frustrated at first he gradually adapts to the environment of the prison. Since he is having a great knowledge about accounting and finance, the prison warden uses him to launder his illegal money. From there how he slowly and steadily plans to escape the highest security prison is what the movie is all about.
When names like Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins are in the lead role, cast performance can never be bad. it does have some soundtracks like "if I didn't care" and "lovesick blues" but I didn't pay attention to them in front of the story going on. Cinematography is also good with major scenes being shot in "Ohio's Mansfield Reformatory".
Overall, it is a pure masterpiece and a worth watch movie.
