The Blacklist currently telecast on Star World features the inimitable James Spader(of Boston Legal) as Raymond "Red" Reddington, a former US Navy officer turned most wanted fugitive. He surrenders and strikes a deal with the FBI to capture the most dangerous criminals in the world. One of his conditions is that he will work only with a FBI rookie named Elizabeth Keen(Megan Boone).
The highlight of The Blacklist is the high-powered performance by Spader ably supported by Boone and the rest of the cast. Each episode features the capture of one criminal and has many unpredictable twists and turns. It also unspools the progression of the relationship between Reddington and Keen.
The Blacklist is better-written and I found it much more authentic than similar programs like Burn Notice and Alias.
