I heard about Telegram about 18 months ago. Since then I'm using the instant chat messenger app and I'm quite impressed with it. It is a bit like Whatsapp but it has many unique features. Here you can create your own channel and run it as an administrator. It's a very good feature for creators. You also can create a group where you can interact with family, friends and subscribers. There are hundreds of good channel available on Telegram where you can learn new things. I also myself run two channels. There are also good features like create a poll, schedule message etc. It's also available in the dark mode which I found really great. But you should be very careful while using Telegram because there are also some fake scam channels which can fraud you. Apart from this, it's a very good platform to use.
