All the people out there who r waiting for a nice review of Indigo E-CS ( petrol version) GLX,
I bought my Indigo E-CS GLX from Oberoi Motors, Dehradun on dated 30-072010 and I got a warm welcome from the sales manager Mr. Gusain . Mr. Gusain showed me my pretty car(porclein white) and I inspected it from outside and then from inside.It has a lot of space , comfortable driver's seat, co-driver seat, and lot of trunk space of 380 litres.
I started its engine it was really silent and I didn't felt that the car has started. the car only get started when its clutch is pressed. it is the new safety feature new Indigo E-CS possess. A new feature is mentioned in the E-series brochure named gradient climb assist , I didn't understood what this feature mean neither the sales personnel know about it. Tata motors has not introduced any new special feature in the car but promoted E-cs as new version.
the car stereo(Clarion make) with FM radio, CD player , aux- in fitted in the car is pretty good with four 4" speakers are fitted two in front and two below rear wind shield and the sound is smooth.The remote of the stereo was unavailable at the dealer .The sales personnel didn't know that it has USB port also. when I open the car stereo the USB port was found with cable attached.I didn't checked the bluetooth connectivity till now .
I drove the car and it has excellent pick up with low noise and vibrations.The mileage I got was 14.29Kms / Litre of petrol and its sufficient for me and I think it will improve after two or three services. The main cons of the car are poor plastic quality, they should have provided extra storage space below co driver seat as in indica vista , poor finish, the wheel rims are painted black which look ugly if wheel covers removed rest is ok.
Till now the car is running O.K. and the car is driven around 800 kms and didn't found any fault in the car, the AC is quite effective but slows down the pickup uphill ( it's obvious).
will submit more review of the car in coming months, over all the car is great to drive till now and I am totally satisfied.
