I had a lot of respect for the Tata brand. But Tata Indicom does not seem to be a typical Tata company. Since it was erstwhile VSNL, I guess the typical work culture (or lack of it) continues to plague them. I had bought this connection from Dishnet, and till last year, I was quite happy with the connection reliability and speed. But last year on wards, my connection goes down every one week or so, and it takes them 2-3 days to get it rectified. Moreover, it goes down every night after about 10 PM, and I cannot use it till the next morning.
I am very dissatisfied with it, and have recently asked for the service to be cancelled. I have now subscribed to MTNL, which seems better for the time being.
I had also subscribed to a Tata Indicom connection for my office in Noida. But had the same problem there also. Their engineers were absolutely incompetent, and could not rectify for my connection for over a month. Finally, I switched to Airtel service at my office.
I would recommend prospective buyers not to subscribe to Tata Indicom unless they have a reference in their own locality who can vouch for decent service in their area.
