I have read so many articles by the new visitors about tanzania praising the land beauty.Ofcourse the land is gifted by god in natural things.As a person stayed ,lived,travelled widely in africas best and worst parts,I recently had opportunity to live in tanzania at Dar es lam. Generally the life will be ok except the sultry weather in off seasons.But aware of those good days has gone for ever at tanzania where in corruption was less,crime rates less etc.Within the first three days after my arrival to this beautiful city ( as claimed by other new visitors) I happened to passthrough night mare at kisutu.Everybody will be shocked,if they know the reason. The police guys arrested me along with two other guys for not having yellow fever certificate,which normally we keep in our hotel custody.We all knew that this is just for money extraction.Even after arguing for long( they even threatned to put behind bars ,if we donot co operate by dashingout US Dollars on reason of Marijuna case).That was at around 9 pm ,we were so tired and mentally tired of all this things and paid US Dollar 300 as gift to escape.After paying the money,they treated us like Udaipur maharajas and escorted us back to our hotel.This type of things are quite common here,especially at town centre.
On my full ten years african experiance,I have never paid any single shillings or nairas to any police personals ,even in worst countries( Corruption) like benin,except in tanzania.I sincerely advice,for the new comers to keep always 100 dollars in pocket to dashout ,to escape from unwanted tortures and keep 50,000 shillings to dashout to traffic cops who will arrest your car for the reason that has four good tyres.If any body comes as expats,please at the time of interview demand 200 dollars more everymonth on the package,just for this applications.
