Finally a director who is consistent!!!
Ashutosh Gowariker has made a worthy follow-up to lagaan! lagaan was a movie that showcased some of the best traits of a leader.
Swades takes this one step ahead. it actually shows you how you can inspire people by doing, not coaching! practice what you preach!!!
The suggestion that just cribbing about the situation is not justified, what you need to do is to try and solve problems at your own level instead of waiting and hoping for divine (or in this case, governmental) intervention is well-taken.
Though the end was a bit disappointing - we do not need people to return to the country so much as we need them to retain their high-profile (and consequently high-paying) jobs abroad and then invest that money in the development of india. It would be one way of ensuring a constant inflow of resources at the grassroots level which is where it is needed.
