It's not a wish but a necessity to have an account in a government bank.


Many government websites only accept online payment with state bank options, nothing else and so I had to open an account with it.


But it's always a pain visiting branch. They do not even change mobile number any other way but just by visiting the branch, and if I am out of India how can I visit the home branch to change my mobile number.


If online transaction fails, you just got stuck with pathetic customer care who will mostly push you to visit base branch.


And when you visit the branch, they will ask you to come after some time when they are free to check the details. And as soon as they are free, they leave.


The person sitting at counters mostly are unaware of options or features or rules at their banking system and it's website, and if you ask for anything out of their knowledge box, they will give you a strange look and say come next day.


I stopped using the bank account, and just do very necessary transaction with it where no other option is present.
