I just wanted to make a few more comments regarding Sprint that might be helpful to some people. For anyone who's ever had to submit for a rebate whether its with sprint or any other company. Make sure you read the rebate requirements very carefully, and if you have a lawyer friend have him take a look, ha ha. I've never had a problem w/ sprint but waiting 6-8 wks. for them to send you a check is ridiculous.....Imagine if I told them when my bill was due that I mailed them a check but it's going to take 6-8 wks. to get there!
I'm rather frugal and I always send in rebates, even if its for a dollar. But once with ???? they never sent me my rebate ($20). After calling they told me that I didn't have a copy of my UPC bar code....bullshit. After talking with the lady she finally gave in and acted like she was doing me some great favor by going ahead and issuing me my rebate check. The kicker though was that it was going to be another 6-8 wks. before I would get it. I lost it, but I knew arguing with this lady who was probably just doing her job was going to get me nowhere...So I contacted the Better Business Bureau (BBB)....Maybe India has something similar? It was great I did it all online ,it took me five minuted to make my grievance and the BBB mediates the dispute for you. You don't have to do anything else. This was my first time using the B.B.B. and it was great b/c companies hate to have a poor rating with them. Four days later I got a check for $20 I couldn't believe it, and six weeks later I got another check for $20...oops. Needless to say I cashed them both.....suckers. So use the BBB its a great last resort to resolve issues in which you know you right, with quick results.
I was at the river and my dog got sucked up in an undertow and started to drown. I jumped in to save her but oops my phone was in my pocket ....ruined phone /dog saved. A small price to pay to say the least. I wasn't eligible for a rebate for a new phone and without their rebates phones can get pricey. The moral of the story is that Ebay has cheep phones and the ones that are a couple of years old are really cheap. I got mine for $20. and it works great. I'm going to keep it until i can qualify for a rebate again. But Beware as with anything on ebay but particularly cell phones about who you buy from. Phones VIN#'s need to be clear, which basically means you'll be able to activate it when you get it (ie. the phones not stolen, or is tied to unpaid phone bills) Most sellers will tell you if it is but you can also check with your phone provider. Also make sure it comes with a charger. Seems obvious but a lot of sellers try to sell those separately and it would suck to get a phone you can't use. Hope my ramblings are helpful.
