So happened to visit pune once and had the opportunity to visit this wonderful place named as Baba Ramdev Dhaba. It is famous in pune for its rajasthani and north Indian food. I had visited this place on a busy Saturday afternoon. The ambiance is pretty decent. And as they say do not judge a book by it’s cover.
Every bit of it is true for this place. We had ordered Daal Baati Churma, Dahi Wada, Dal Tadka, Masala Buttermilk and we felt as if we were at heavens gate. It was a royal treat. Dryfruit churmi in its all glory plus the rajwadi daal baati was something that you can die for.
If you do not know how to eat the daal baati churma please ask the waiter and he will guide you. When in rome do as the romans do. SO to have the flavor of this dish eat it how it’s eaten. Crush baati and mix it with other ingredients. Apart from these dishes, Khichiya papad(the thicker cousin of our regular papad), paneer kofta and veg toofani was amazing as well. Full marks to the authentic rajasthan in pune!
