I am a regular user of the Auctions.Indiatimes site. I buy cheap flight tickets from here. But my recent experience has made me think twice about using this service again.
I recently ended up bidding for a flight ticket through this site. Accidently because I was waiting for a link that will ask for my Credit card details. But I ended up getting a screen that said that I have successfully submitted the bid!!
This is when I came to know that the system stores the Credit Card (CC) details for a period of 30 days!!! And there is no notice regarding the same. You need to unauthenticate yourself!!
With the system storing your CC details for 30 days, all it needs for anyone is to know the person's Indiatimes ID and password. All the possible transactions can then be done. This can lead to huge fraud, but I doubt that the Indiatimes people will do anything about this.
All those who bid here, PLEASE unauthenticate yourself after EACH transaction, to safeguard yourself against fraud.
