I have booked a 8 seater Tavera which was confirmed to me over SMS, but on the day of travelling early morning at 6:00 Am there came an old Innova. I called up the service provider for the reason and what he siad is this .."Sir we are providing you a more costly vehicle at the same rate as of Tavera. No Tavera available hence we have sent a Innova".
On the last day of our tour i.e. 31st March, 2013, suddenly at around 9:00 AM the driver informs that there is a minor problem in the car and it will take little time for us to leave hotel (Ooty). We were supposed to go out with our family for sight seeing and then return to Bangalore by 9:00 PM. The car somewhat got got rectified at around 1:30 PM and then we started.
We found that the driver is not switching off the car even when we are out of it. On asking he replies if he switches off the engine it might not start. Finally we came to know in the evening that except the gear, accelerator and the engine nothing in the car is working - including the head lamp, horn, parking & side indicators, Ac, sound system absolutely nothing. When reported this back to the service provider "Safe Cabs" they told us to come to Bangalore in the same car as the driver is experienced.
The driver was himself not able to take the risk of driving the car in a NH without lights and horns, but we were forced by the Safe Cabs to travel in the same car or leave it at Mysore by paying the full amount. We were kept waiting in a closed Petrol pump for 2 hrs and 30 mins near Madur saying some other driver will come from Kengeri in 45 mins. That too this alternative was arranged by our car driver and not the Safe Cabs.
In spite of this disaster the person from the Bangalore office was speaking very rude, did not bother to help rather were blaming us and were forcing us to pay the full amount + 1 day extra batta for the driver in spite of all the harassment that our family members including 5 year old kid had to suffer due to the car. We did not pay any permit in any checkpost as they had send a White Board car still they charged Rs800 as inter state permit/Tax
My suggestion is never book cabs from Safe Cabs as its really neither safe nor they are helpful. Further more they will not give you any bill or record of the actual mileage covered and the amount paid. Worthless and ill behaved service provider.
