I did a quick research on our options to send money bak and realized where the problem is and how we can avoid heartburn. Read the facts:
You do not pay fees for your transfer in most cases
All companies have salaries to pay and have to make money
fx rate is only way to make money
rates market are volataile and courier companys are very unreliable
service staff are low paid and not very educated as companys cannot afford
Not that I am excusing these companies like remit2india, icici etc but if we can only know what to expect in advance, we would not feel as bad. online service is good for us as those western union guys loot on rates and bank wire also costly with no tracking.
So dont worry all of them are as good or bad.and all here to make money.no one is doing charity. even I had bad experience and was pissed so did this research. Now me happy that I know my expectations.
