Good Dial Connection. Review on Reliance Netconnect

I had purchased the reliance net connect in Feb 2007 and having been using the same till now with a break for 4 months when I was out of India.

I have been using Rs 650 plan which allows 36 day hours and 36 night hours.About the connection, the same is very good and I have never had any problem connecting the same.

I have used the data card in 4 states (Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Ajmer) till now and every where it works good enough. The setup is very easy and the device starts working only after 2 working days because of house verification done by reliance.

The speed is not great like a broadband connection, it is equivalent to dial connection with a mobility advantage. Connection never disconnects. The plans are expensive (Rs 0.50 for every minute extra outside the plan hours) and if you are not careful then you might end up with huge bill.

I maintain my day and night hour usage list. Biggest disadvantage is night hours are only for 8 hour (10 pm till 6 am). Also I get 100 free sms with the plan and twice I have to call the customer care to reverse the sms charges they charges me when my sms bill increased Rs 100 but overall sms where not above 100.

I have never been charged any roaming charges for using the data card outside Karnataka till now.

Customer Support is decent. Never waited for more than 5 minutes.

Overall a good connection with great mobility. Price is high due to lack of competition from other players. I had purchased the usb data card for Rs 3700. Now it comes free with some plans.
