If you are not enjoying Reliance R Connect : then some tips.
Don't install the reliance connection setup program.
Manually update the driver only of your usb cable, if its com port, no need of driver.
Change the port speed to 115kbps everywhere (dialup, modem, com/usb port) you installed through the device manager.
Manually install the modem, with no detection option, choose standard modem of 56 kbps v 90. and select the port you are using for that modem.
Open the advance settings of the modem, device manager, modem, properties, then enter this string S11=50
Create manually the R Connect Dialup connection with the the dialing no. #777.
