I took a reliance GSM sim on 12th Feb 2009 in Bangalore. I cost Rs 77/- with 4 rupees of local talk-time free everyday for 90 days. Also there was a scheme of double talk-time till 31st march.
1) Call Charges
Local - 1, STD - 1.5
Whenever I recharged I got double talk time less service tax to make local calls. Best plan is recharge with Rs 35 and get 50 std calls free and remaining std calls at Rs 0.70 only. This is the best plan due to which I took the sim.
2) Connectivity
It is decent during the day but it is impossible to connect in the evening (even to a reliance CDMA phone also). I have 2 phones so it is fine for me. I use reliance gsm phone to make outgoing calls and use my air tel phone for incoming calls.
3) Network Coverage
In Bangalore I did not had any trouble of no network coverage or low network coverage.
Very difficult to call customer care also during the evenings otherwise during day time it is connects in 2-3 retries. Overall I am gonna throw the sim in dustbin once 90 days and the talk-time in my sim card are finished.
I would recommend the service to people who have the patience to carry 2 mobile phone as call charges are very less otherwise you would be very much frustrated.
