I don't think this should ideally fit in here as I am not talking of writing reviews but on adding comments to them. All the same, hear me out! It is a suggestion I have to make to all of you. IMHO ofcourse! I beg to differ!
Often when I come across a fantastic review or a review which could be improved upon, I add a comment after giving a rating. [A lot has already been said-37 reviews exit on this topic-so I shall not wax eloquent about how to rate reviews]. I, personally, enjoy reading the comments more than checking out the rating I have got. Every day I make it a point to go thru all the comments my reviews have generated. And to see a comment from some of the elite such as acchougo, venchasa, riks, cousin2, jilmil, abbey, sujay, kalyan and several others makes my day! However, I try to make it a point to send a mail to the person who has written a comment to clarify something that he/she has asked, or to atleast thank him/her for the comment.and this generally starts off a nice little correspondence. However, on the other hand, when I write a comment on someone's review, if the original author adds his own comment as a reply to my comment, I will never ever see it because I might have added comments to several reviews, and it is not easy to keep a track of them, and Mouthshut does not provide this feature(as yet!). Are you with me.?
So, what am I saying? Well.if you want to reply to a person who wrote a comment on your review, I would suggest that you send a mail to the person(Mouthshut has this feature! Use it!) who wrote that comment rather than add another comment to that comment. In the former case, he receives the email, and should hopefully get back to you(99% chance!). In the latter case, there's a 1% chance he/she might read your reply to his comment! And I, personally, would love to see replies to my comments!
