Earlier It was Swades and now Rang De Basanti!!! This is yet another superb movie which stirs up emotions and nationalistic feeling within the audience.
As discussed a lot, it’s a story about 5 friends and a revolution. So I won’t delve much into the same. The cast is aptly chosen and everyone does full justice to the characters. Amir being the most ‘senior’ actor has given yet another splendid performance. Others have supported him well and the surprise of all is Soha Ali Khan. She feels good in the bubbly role of Sonia. Su (Alice) is very pretty and has done a good job.
The movie starts on a very promising note. The college mood, the friendship and spirit of the youngsters portrayed is amazing. The intro scene of Aamir and Sharman Joshi is too good. The film is shot mostly in Delhi and North India. You feel amazed to know that the India is also so beautiful. Typical hindi movie ingredients like Hindu – Muslim bhaichara and hero –heroine romance find a place in this movie too. But its handled in a different way. A.R. Rahman's compositions are good and will cause you to tap your feet. However the lyrics are meaningless a few times. Cinematography and Choreography are dazzling. Some scenes in black and white give a different look to the film. Dialogs are witty and make you laugh out loud.
The story starts off well but the ending may not be liked by many. The director is clear in relaying his message and that too in a very nice manner. You actually feel involved with India's freedom struggle. The movie is fast paced and you won’t realize that it’s almost 3 hours long.
All in all it’s a fantastic movie and definitely a must watch.
