I travel quite a lot but somehow a journey from Bangalore to Delhi or reverse direction by Rajdhani Express was missing from my travels or travails ( Now that I have undertaken the journey, the latter is the more appropriate word.)November 9, 2008. Bangalore City. Airtel Rajdhani Express to Hazrat Nizamuddin. Poorly maintained coaches, creaky doors, noisy pantry car staff, stray cockroaches and occasional rat were noticed on the first day.
On the second day the door to the compartment came off the hinges and it was quite a task to get it fixed. At least twice there were complaints of NO WATER in the toilets. I have travelled in Mumbai and Howrah Rajdhani trains earlier and enjoyed the journeys. This train is a poor cousin to the above two and is a shame on the brand name. Return was on November 25, 2008. The sponsor was now Max Newyork Life. Only it did not make life any better.
This time rat was not sighted. The pantry service was a bit better, food a little worse. You can't win them all.well, I would avoid this high priced, wrongly named Rajdhani Express in my future travels.
