A joyride . Review on Pyare Mohan

Pyare (Fardeen Khan) and Mohan (Viveik Anand Oberon) are our goofy heroes, who worked as movie stuntmen before an accident left them blind and deaf respectively.

Bouncing back, they now run a greeting card shop. The story begins when they fall for a couple of enticing but virtuous girl singers (Esha Deol and Amrita Rao) about to embark on an international tour.

In part one, Pyare and Mohan are as cheery as a couple of Wiggles. By the end of their trip to Thailand in part two, they're covered in blood, and overshadowed by an eye-rolling, dandyish villain (Boman Irani) who maintains an air of absent-minded irritation even when bashing people to death with a baseball bat.

The shifts in tone don't seem intended as disquieting: it's all part of the show. Pyare and Mohan behave throughout like knights in shining armour and, despite their afflictions, prove to be ace fighters able to make short work of a nightclub full of hoodlums.

Director Indra Kumar opens the cards at the very outset: The sequence between Fardeen and Viveik keeps you on tenterhooks!The clash between the heroes and heroinees builds up convincingly and the change of events at the interval point catches you unaware.

But the pace slackens in the post-interval portions. The second half starts off brilliantly, the flight sequence is amongst the best sequences of the enterprise and the pace is maintained right till the heroes land up in the Bangkok.

Director Indra Kumar is in complete form this time around.He is most comfortable in dramatic sequences, in fact that has always been his forte. In this film too, he executes the dramatic portions with panache, besides extracting a stupendous performance .

Music may not boast of chartbusting hits, but gels well with the mood of the film. The I love you my angel is the pick of the lot. However, the placement of a few songs in the first half could've been better thought of.

Cinematography is excellent. Dialogues are natural to the core. Action sequences are raw and appealing.

And now to the performances! Vivek is excellent. Fardeen catches your attention with a flawless performance. Esha and Amrita lend decent support.Boman is a delight to watch

On the whole, PM is a joyide all the way!
