Not up to the mark. Review on Project Marathwada

My friend is Marathi so he said a lot about this film which made me watch it.This movie Project Marthwada is a film based on the poor condition of the farmers in today's world. It is a marathi film. In the movie Om Puri plays a farmer Tukaram whose son commits suicide due to the problems that farmers face today like bank debt. The death of his son leaves tukaram shattered and he tries to get justice for his son but he cannot because of the powerful people who turn a deaf ear to poor people's problems. The film shows how tukaram fights against the powerful banks and the corrupt system of the country. Om Puri plays a very strong role and he really portrays the real problems faced by the farmers in the country. Seema Biswas and Dalip Tahil also play a very strong role and look very good. Others in the movie could not come upto their level. But everyone in the movie have done a decent role. But sometimes in a few scenes the cast looked dull and did not play a strong portray.

The problem with the film is that the even though the topic of the film is very strong but the cast and production could not portray it that strongly. The condition of the farmers and peasants today in the country is very poor and they are going through a lot be it the heavy debt they take from the banks or the weak rainfall. But the film only shows one point that the banks are very cruel they fail to show other factors also that are also responsible about the poor condition of the farmers that forces them to commit suicide. If they showed all these factors I think this film would have done more better. Other than that the film is decent and is a one time watch if you expect a lot of entertainment than do not watch it but if you want the truth then you can watch it with your family. This is though just a part of the real truth behind all these incidents happening today.
