I am using Crompton Ce-ling fan for the past 2 years. My idea was to buy a known brand, but realized it should not be the only criteria. The fan Bearing started making noise on the 13th month and the mechanic replaced the bearings. Worked for one year, next time the fan base was getting hot and the blades wont move. The mechanic said the coil need change.
Another thing the mechanic told me was, the whole fan casing was made of Aluminium and fragile for handling of repair. The idea of going for Branded fans was durability and one pays higher price for it. There are fans available for Rs 700 range made in Delhi/Hyd.
