I spent more than five years in this company, thinking of resigning from the first year itself.
Reason for staying this long is - I have got few chances to travel around, so I couldn't feel much bad part of this company.
Another reason is - Out of complete Gurgaon management team, only one guy is good at VP level. I was reporting to him, so I had some good time. But I was paid poorly in India. Since I had few onsite travels, I was able to cover.
When it comes to Cons of this company, at least about Gurgaon practice .
One of the worst HR team on this planet. This team is Bunch of bullshit guys with thick bureaucracy.
You need to CC all your emails to Sr. VP to get just a reply from HR team.
HR team look for all available excuses just not to work for you.
Ex: If one need temp ID card, you need to approach HR team. If a specific issuer in that team is not in office(it happens 95% of the days), you will not get ID card. If you escalate, they shamelessly claim, that issuer is not available. They don't bother to help associates in getting one.
- This HR team took one year to send me one deputation document. Many of headless chickens in this team. They really don't care, where they are sending those documents.
Claim reimbursement is a big joke. It takes several months.
They do have ombudsmen team to resolve issues, this totally crap. It never works.
This office has got more VPs, Associate VPs(who are not billable or parasites in other words.) than billable consultants.
Pre-sales team - Always dozing. All they get is cheap body shopping deals occasionally.
3 months notice period strictly, so that associates will do buyouts, that improves companies bottom line.
In Singapore, one HR guy is heading that operations. Full of flexible HR policies to harass people.
Ex: In Singapore, first 3 months is the probation period. In this period, associates need serve just one month(other wise it is 3 months) as notice period if he resigns.
To avoid attrition in Singapore, he changed the policy on fly. Now no probation. From day one, you are permanent employee. Resultly you need to serve 3 months as notice. In Singapore, you will not get calls, if you say notice period is more than a month.
Thats how Polaris - Singapore retains their employees.
- In Australia, that head claims that he was successful in chasing away TCS and Infy from that Aus-NZ geo.
It didn't happen any where in the world. No one believes in that.
He is blind folded. TCS and Infy are very strong in Australia.
In Australia/NZ, they make you work business visa, instead of work permit. Working on business visa is illegal. It is matter of when you get caught.
Gurgaon management team is more keen on Monday dress code, tie. You will look like a butler in a restaurant with formals ad Tie, no work.
Gurgaon management team, they don't work for getting new projects, new deals etc. All they say to associates is - Few big projects are in pipeline. You will hear this for your entire tenure.
For hikes and promotions you need put papers. Then will come to you and promise so many things, which will never happen.
They show no mercy when they want to fire.
Ex: By the order of my management,
I interviewed a guy, who was working in Dubai and recruited him. Paid around 15 Lakhs in recession times for his 5 yrs of exp. Which was pretty good package in recession times. We promised him that we send him to Europe from day one.
Because of the pre-sales poor show, client never shown interest in taking another guy onsite.
Now guess, who is the scape goat? The poor consultant.! He was forced to put his papers and leave.
He was leading good life in Dubai and had lot twists in his life after joining in PSL.
This goes on and on.
My advice for the guys who are joining, stay as less time as possible and Get out this company imme.
